International Mensa Election

I've known Therese for a number of years (we met at an AG and have spoken and exchanged email a number of times). I believe that she would be an excellent Chairman of International Mensa.

During her term as Chair of American Mensa, LaRae published a political statement attributed to the American Mensa Committee and distributed to all members, in violation of the Mensa Constitution. Instead of transparency about how this statement was created, she dissembled, and later claimed that this statement was not from the board of directors of American Mensa. but by a group of Mensans who happen to be the American Mensa Committee that was by some unclear logic, not the board. This led to the embarrassing motion at an AMC meeting which she chaired where the AMC purported to vote on whether American Mensa would follow the Mensa Constitution.

I'm not acquainted with either Monika or Kymberley. While Robin Crawford is an indefatigable volunteer, my experiences with her have been mixed. She chaired or co-chaired two AMC committees on which I served, one of which was the worst experience I've had on several AMC committees. As AMC Communications Officer, her response to complaints about abuses by Mensa Connect forum moderators was that they receive no training, no oversight, and that it wasn't her problem.

John has been a friend for many years (I attended his and Linda's wedding). We worked closely when he was RVC for Region 8 and I was SFRM's LocSec. He's had experience with developing national Mensa organizations.
